About F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange

F-Secure is working on Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange version 8.00. We are currently looking for customers to participate in our beta pilot project. To join, please read through this page and follow the instructions at the bottom of the page.

F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange has reached version 8.00. With this release we will combine our offering for the Microsoft Exchange Server protection into one single product by merging product versions 6.62 and 7.10 into one product.

What's new in Release Candidate

Version 8.00 Release Candidate includes the following new features and functionality:

- Keyword filtering – you can now block undesirable e-mail messages based on keywords that the product will look for in the message texts and/or subjects.
- Integration with Microsoft Small Business Server 2008 Console – the status of F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange and F-Secure Spam Control can be monitored in Small Business Server Console.
- Upgrade from the previous version – now you can smoothly upgrade from the previous version of the product (6.62, 7.00 or 7.10).
- Bug fixes – a number of issues found in Beta 2 and previous releases have been fixed.

What's new in version 8.00

Version 8.00 includes the following new features:

- Support for Microsoft Exchange Server 2000, 2003 and 2007 – one release for all existing Microsoft Exchange Server versions.
- Improved virus protection – the current release uses the latest antivirus engines to ensure the highest possible virus detection rate and disinfection capability.
- Protection against grayware – adware, spyware, riskware, and other unwelcome programs can be blocked before they enter or leave the organization.
- Spam safe and blocked lists – you can create lists of safe and blocked senders and recipients for Spam Control.
- Stripping archives with disallowed files inside – the product can detect and block archive files that contain dangerous or disallowed files.

- Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 with the latest service pack
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 (64-bit version only) with the latest service pack

Microsoft SQL Servers (for quarantine):

- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (Enterprise, Standard or Workgroup Edition) with Service Pack 4
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE) with Service Pack 4
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (Enterprise, Standard, Workgroup or Express Edition) with the latest service pack
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (Enterprise, Standard, Workgroup or Express Edition)

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 2 is distributed with the product and can be installed during Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange Setup.
